I am a US citizen living in HK and have a HK Permanent ID. What I want now is a Macau Permanent ID - I am working in Macau now and living there half time.
The thing I was actually born in Macau and have the original birth certificate from local Macau hospital. I approached the Macau government but got pushed back, saying this certificate alone is not good enough (once born my parents and I moved to HK)
Appreciate any information on:
* Any legal services in Macau that can help me get a permanent Macau citizenship just like HK
* Any tie between Macau and US from a tax point of view (tax treaty etc)
You can apply for a Proffesional Visa or Investment Visa but investment they just stop few days ago, you're only option to get a Residency is the proffessional Visa but you need your company support for your application.(BTW, this is what the Immigration suggested to us and we are now on the processing our residency)
Thanks, I am starting this professional visa application but it is temporary only. I much perfer to get the permanent residence status just by virtue of physically born in Macau; but to the government being born here just isn't good enough apparently.
