custody and maintenance advice

i am a single mum looking to formalise the custody of my child. it is beyond an amicable settlement with the father. i am a cantonese speaker. don't think i can afford the $5,000 per hour legal fees, but i a above the threshold for legal aid. any advise on what i can do / expect appreciated

if there is no amicable settlement, it is likely that a hearing for the custody of the child will be heard before the Family Court. The prime concern and factor that the Court will consider is the welfare of the Child. We need further information before we can provide advice. You may contact us to arrange for an initial conference at HK$2,500 per conference of one hour.

Be wary about following Associates' advice.
Not only are they breaking the terms & conditions of this forum by including business details in their footer, they are also breaking the rules by soliciting for business. This is something they have been doing for ages in a wide range of legal areas yet.
Their posts have regularly been reported, but nothing has been done.

there is the duty lawyer scheme, and the community advice bureau, from which you might find some advice.

not all lawyers charge $5k per hour. check around with friends. some will give you a good package rate.
