The aircon in our living room has been broken for four weeks now. The management office sent several repair people who could not fix it and we have now waited for 10 days to find out what will happen next - they probably have to install a new one. We have not heard from the management (colliers) for a week, although we try to contact them almost daily. Is there anything we can do?
You do not make it clear who your landlord is. Are you in a serviced apartment or do you have a tenancy agreement with a landlord.
Normally it is the responsibility of your landlord, not the management office to fix the aircon.
Check your contract.
We have a tenancy agreement with a landlord who owns the whole building - he is a complete jerk, all tenants have problems with him all the time. We have no way of contacting him directly and have to go through the management office. They have acknowledged that the landlord is responsible for fixing the problem and sent several repair guys (we had four visits!) but the electrical wiring in the ceiling seems to be a problem - apparently it's too difficult to fix it as they would have to tear open the ceiling. It think we will go with HK1's suggestion. Are there any legal options?
I would not follow Tidings 2 suggestion,It's a bad suggestion!! I think if you read your tenancy agreement, it prohibits you from this and should you do this, you will be stuck with the repair bill.
