tax in china

hi,
where can i find out about chinese taxes on foreginers (on work visa)? i make about 19 000RMB/month and my employer withheld several thousand saying it's for tax. seems like a rather high % to me....
i'm in shanghai. thanks.

You are in the 20% bracket on your total income minus the first 4800, which is tax free.

Enter your salary in the first space and 4800 (as mentioned by gdbill which is tax free for foreigners) in the second.
