Weight gain
Posted by char88can (454 days ago)
Heard alot about weigh loss but little about putting on weight (withour resorting to eating fast/junk food). I have a fast metabolic rate and eat quite a lot but can't gain weight. I am not into weight training but do exercise regularly. Eat healthy food so prefer not to change diet too much if possible. Would like to gain 10kg plus.
Any suggections.

How about eating as you normally would and taking a tablespoonful of cold-pressed flax seed oil after each meal? Reason: it's supposed to be the healthiest oil one can take (high in Omega-3?), and oil is the most condensed food in terms of calorie...right? and it won't cause cavities or diabetes like sugar would. Indeed, a friend of mine who survived nasopharyngeal carcinoma wanted to gain weight (but he didn't have an apeptide), and he took flax seed oil for 6 months and is now very happy with his weight.

Eat lots of greens and drink milk regularly. I used to be really skinny, but thanks to this treatment I now have a normal weight.

If you eat a lot of carbohydrates, like bread you should gain weight. If you really want to gain weight, go to GNC and ask them to help. They have protein powders which will help you gain weight quickly.

GNC. Beg my ignorance, but what does it mean?

Dear Char88can,
You might want to check your thyroid. (Hyperthyroidism symptoms: frequent hungry, sleeplessness, palpitation, weight loss, loose stool, oily skin, sleeplessness, etc.)
Good quality butter and meat. Green veggies. Avoid iodine-rich food, as iodized salt, seaweed, etc.

GNC is short for General Nutrition Center, which is a polular store that sells vitamins, supplements, and all sorts of stuff to help people lose and gain weight.
They do sell a lot of protein powders which body builders use to get large muscles while lifting weights.
If there are no GNC's in your city, maybe a gym or body building club could give you nutrition tips. Or, you could do internet research.
It really is amazing what you can find on the internet.

If you want to gain muscle - resistance training and protein weill do it. If you want to gain fat - eat lots of carbs (fat and protein will not make you fat - may sound strange, but this is indeed a fact).
