My youngest daugther always had stye, I am starting to be conscious about it. Can anyone relate to this problem and or knows any doctor that we can go to? I believe this is an eye infection but if she had it frequently, I think it is time to seek professional help, Any doctor you recommend?
Hi arlina
It may be a stye or a small cyst. These are both easily treatable but need to be correctly diagnosed first. Do take her to a GP. There are many reasons for either stye or cyst and a GP will possibly refer her to an Ophthalmologist, but first step GP.
Possible causes according to 2 eye doctors I have seen in HK are pollution and too much greasy food.
The best treatment is a hot washer on the eye at first sign of a stye. I rent a DVD and keep the washer on the whole movie. (You need to keep reheating it) Tedious but effective.
There is also a French eyelash shampoo that is quite good. It is called Blephagel and available at Watsons.
