dentist cheap but good

Wanted to go to a dentist to have a scale and polish (clean) also need two white fillings replaced. I don't want to pay too much but I don't want a dodgy dentist either.
In England to replace a white filling it was 100 pounds, way too much.

Are you asking about price (cost) or value? Is "way too much" another way of saying that the value to you of having a white filling is less than GBP100? In which case, what IS it worth to you? If you are merely after "low cost" with "reasonable" dental care, then why not go to Bangkok? Much cheaper, have a bit of holiday at the same time? On the other hand, why not invest some time to find a good dentist, with whom you can converse reasonably, and who offers value for money (but is not cheap) - you will be seeing the dentist every six months, right?

Good dentists I can recommend include David Braga, Eric Carter and Mike Smith. But there are plenty out there - Chinese, Main Street dentists, who offer excellent service but little bedside manner. Hundreds of them. All good.

Dong Fang Hospital, VIP centre. I wouldn't use the regualr clinic though.
VIP centre staffed by consultants, root canal for 500rmb.

If you just want a white filling you can find a cheap one anywhere around. If you want one that looks like your tooth that has form and function, then it is hard to find a CHEAP dentist to do that.

Can you give me the address/contact numbers of the dentists you mentioned. I am looking for a good dentist, no matter if he's expensive, but he should be worth the money. Light handed and able to put you at ease. I prefer Kowloon side if possible.

Cygnet, you can try Bayley and Jackson dental surgeons ltd.. they have two clinics on kowloon side. One in TST Ocean Center or Mong Kok Langham place .. most of the dentists there are foreign trained and very experienced.
