I have one I use for my 16 month old. It does make it much easier to carry your little one as they don't slip down your hip and out of your grasp. The belt does support your back to a certain degree. However, you can't carry them comfortably for as long as you can with a sling. Mostly due to their increased weight and not the design I would say.

Hi Hen, thanks for sharing. I actually have a sling myself, but every time when I carry him in the sling my back aches. I guess he's just too heavy to be carried on the side? Do you carry your 16 mos at the back or by the side in your sling?

I'm considering the Hippchick coz hubby can also use it and thus help share the load. Bub likes me to carry him than anyone else maybe coz I carry him in a sling which he sits comfortably. I thought Hippychick functions similar?
