We are HK born Canadians and will visit Toronto for a month starting mid July. We'll bring our 3 years old along and wish to plan some fun programs for our kid. Does anyone:
1. recognise any good programs (best if their kids tried before) that could be recommended here?
2. have info on popular chatroom websites that talk about babies and toddlers in Toronto?
I took my son to toronto last year (when he was about 2) in march. We went to YMCA near scarborough towne centre, there are quite alot of schedules but unfortunately my son was too young and the weather was way too cold back then. Go check out their web site i think they post their schedule there. and i think they also have swijmming lessons for toddlers.
hi here, tks for all the responses here. But I just wish to remind you all that my trip will be scheduled for the summer time (July/August), way far from March.
Also, we are thinking of joining sort of farm house program with a chance to get close encounter with animals.
yes, we realise you are going in the summer. our answers were in response to the other poster who went in march.
as i suggested, try the YMCA & YWCA. they will have tried and true classes. a 3 year old will be a little young for most camp type things, usually they need to be at least 6 or 7 years old for that.
you may be able to find other activities to do together... you could take a day trip to niagra falls, visit a farm (as you said) etc. i'm sure you won't have any trouble finding stuff to do with your child.
Have you tried www.toronto.ca ? There are links to special events run by the city (eg Parks Department) and also to community centres which would be running summer programmes. It is too early for the summer schedules to be available and, unfortunately, when they are out, there may not be many choices for a 3 year old.
My kids were in wonderful programmes for three weeks last summer in Victoria, but they are a bit older than your child.
