could i please have your view on the following:
- how much tv do your kids watch - we are talking 2 year olds? mine - too much i fear - 1 h a day easy..
- also - just found out (we both work full time so not at home) that during the week our helpers feed kids in front of tv - the only way to get food in them they say.. I actually had to do the same a couple of times. And i just hate it.. What do i do? Do your kids have any toys or anything when they eat? of juts them and food?
we would be a bad example. i grew up with tv on most of the time (not dinner time though). i always have it on in the background. my kids are used to it too. although, they are jsut as happily playing for hours without it on.
tv is usually on, i would say, for dinner... although i work late often and miss dinner with the kids. if our oldest misbehaves during dinner, tv is the first thing to go, and he knows it.
oh, thank you Cara, made me feel better... still am thinking need to get them out of habit of eating with tv on... our tv is on in the background a lot as well and they dont watch it at all unless it is Bob the builder or something...
my son very rarely sits down to watch tv... like i said, just background. but it's amazing how much he picks up from it.
i was reading a national geographic magazine the other day and it had pyramids on the front...LO comes over and says very nonchalantly...."ahhh... the pyramids. i see on LITTLE EINSTEINS!"
as a matter of fact, we make a big deal about taking turns with the channels. when oprah or american idol comes on, it's our turn!
