Shared care - GP & Obs

Has anyone had shared care during their pregnancy in HK ie go to alot of the antenatal visits with their normal GP and then get referred to the Obstetritian as and when necessary during the course of the pregnancy (Obs also present at birth)?
Or does everyone stick to one Obs for all consultation during the course of their pregnancy? Thanks for the info.
Also, generally when is the first check up and how frequent are the checks?

I did not have shared care as described during my last pregnancy. I had all the antenatal visits with my OB, Dr Joe Chan. I believe that it would be important to have someone you can trust looking after you, rather than different people at different visits.
I found Dr Chan very good, caring and professional. I enjoyed seeing him and I found very much relaxed after every visit. He delivered my girl and our family is very happy to have him as our doctor.
