Period Return

Hi,

My period has not returned post pregnancy yet - it's been nearly 4 months since I had my babe. I am still breastfeeding and realise this may delay it's return. Does anyone know what the norm ( if there is a norm) is?

no norm -

big range - first baby - 10 months no period.
second baby - 6 months no period.
friend - 1 year still no period
with breastfeeding you delay the period. But again - no guarantees that you won't get pregnant so be careful!

happy to get pregnant again...so fine with that.

My Aunt Flow has disappeared in to no man or womans' land though.

4 months isn't too long - if you're breastfeeding - it could go longer. I noticed the period after I weaned...with my second - as they demand less milk, I think your body thinks it's time to have another baby.

give it a month or two more....

Sounds normal Gabriella - my AF did not return until I cut back BF to mornings/evenings only (after 6-7 months).

my mom said her was after two years and she got pregnant every after two years!

Mine took about 9 months after both my children and even then my cycles weren't regular. I only breastfed for 2 months and 3 months, so that wasn't the cause for the delay. Just hormons re-balancing I think!

I got pregnant when my first was 6 months without ever had a period. It's now been over 2 and a half years since I had one!
I heard that once you stop feeding at night, your period is likely to return.

hi waffle hk,

is it true? i been wondering why my period still not return even thou i cut the nos of BF for 3-4 mth. Now i m only bf for the night feed only and my bb is already 15mth old.
