if you want to deliver at QMH you do not go to antenatal clinics there, UNLESS you are high risk (which i was). usually you go to tsan yuk for all checks and then deliver at QMH.
good luck!
if you want to know more about the high risk checks, i can help a little bit more.
SORRY ! I have literally just come off the phone and have been told to register at Tsan Yuk - first appointment made. Do you know what they do, she wasnt too keen to tell me over the phone!!!!!!
the first appt is NOT with a dr. it is with nurses etc. you watch a video about Down Syndrome and .... i honestly can't remember. i did my ante-natal visits there with my first in 2004 and with my second in 2006, i was seen by the high risk team at QMH
Hi
Visits are usually on a particular day of the week, although first one is a saturday. First visit you just register and have bloods taken, as well as watch the videos. Then you are devided into a day and you will visit once a month. Upon arrival you usually have blood pressure and urine test, and then wait for about an hour/ or two. You will be seen by a medical student that is supervised by a doctor, and it takes about 5-10 minutes. Abdominal checkup, interview, etc. You only get a scan about 2-3 times throughout pregnancy. All over they are very friendly and professional. Only thing is the long wait, but if you are prepared with a good book, it is okay too!
