Dr Clement Chan
Posted by Anna B (1107 days ago)
Hi
Has anyone been to Dr Clement Chan at Quality Healthcare for fertility/ivf etc? I've seen him a few times, he seems pretty good but am about to launch into ivf and can't find much reference to him on the net (Dr Phillip Ho seems to get a lot of coverage though!)
Would be grateful if you could let me know what you have heard/experienced - good or bad.
Thanks!

I've seen him and was terribly disappointed not only with his manner, but also his attempts to get me in for extra appointments that weren't necessary e.g. repeating tests that were already conclusive and trying to tell me that I'd have to come and see him after my next period to be simply told what days I needed to have blood taken to check my hormone levels. Any GP and any fertility book will tell you that it is the 3rd and 21st day of the cycle. If I'd needed to, I wouldn't have gone back to him but that same month, after he'd told me i'd need fertility treatment without even checking my bloods, I fell pregnant! I also found his self promotion OTT as he was too busy talking about his whole educational history and accolades to actually answer my questions!

"Quality" Healthcare is a misnomer .... so I would avoid the whole clinic

Totally agree with Mummy. Wasted 4 precious months, only to keep saying that everything was normal and that I had to keep tryingmore. The next Gyno I went diagnosed with me with PCOS the very firsat day which he couldnt for 4 months.

Hello All,
I've just seen Dr Clement Chan, as it was a card passed on to me, but I did a search on this site afterwards and saw his name. Shall I pull out from seeing him or has anyone got anything positive about him. Yes I agree with some of the comments, but he seemed to be very detailed on the whole process. Any advice? Cheers Winnie

Sorry but I agree on most of the negative comments as I have experienced it firsthand. Me and husband were very disappointed with him. He is very good in talking, very detailed to our detriment.

I have had a positive experience with Dr Clement Chan, and got pregnant on my first IVF cycle with him and now have a healthy baby. I did find that he spoke a lot about his past experience, but I found it reassuring that he had a lot of experience in treating infertility. I also found that he took the time to explain all procedures, risks and success rates very carefully. He's also very cautious and conservative, which may not suit everyone, but it worked for us. Btw, he's now in private practice in Central.

I also had positive experience with Dr. Clement Chan, he was a very careful and detailed person. He recommended me to make several alternative tests during my prenancy, his motive was for my good sake. By the way, can you tell me where is he now, any phone no? I want to have him when I expecting my 2nd baby soon.

I had bad experience with Dr. Clement Chan this time (2nd prenancy). I changed doctor now.
He is now more money oriented since he set up his own clinic. One time, I was there to take the rountine injection, and I didn't feel unwell. He suddenly asked me to take the extra u/s (actually I had made an appointment with him next week). And now his charge is 56% higher than 2 years ago when he was in Quality Healthcare Clinic.
He got problem in the consulting procedure (happened 2 times already). 1st time, when I was preparing to un-dress myself to take the u/s, he came in before the nurse's arrival and open the curtain without asking if I were ready.
2nd time, he opened the curtain after the u/s without asking if I were well-dressed.
Feel really bad with him
