British Groceries

Hello everyone,

My partner and I moved to Beijing two months ago and while we are really enjoying Chinese food we have been craving some home comforts. Can anyone tell me where we might buy British grocery items such as suet, stuffing, British brand tea bags and oxo cubes? We have tried all the big Friendship stores and the Jenny Lou's stores and we are still unable to find anything.

Any and all help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Suet is just beef fat. You ought to be able to find that at your supermarket. Just ask for it.
Stuffing is very easy to make from scratch...heaps of recipes online.
Some of the specialty food stores may have British tea. Ask your embassy/consulate for suggestions. As for oxo cubes, the chicken powder is a good thing to use. No beef flavour, I guess.

Also, ask on your own Beijing practical thread too.

And since Christmas is coming, perhaps someone can send you a care package!
