I've a avi which I've converted to vcd using nero and I can view it on my DVD at home with no problems. However, using the same method, I sent this VCD to my parents back in the UK but they can't view it on their DVD machine. (I'm based in HK)
I don't understand what is happening here!? It is anything to do with pal/ntsc or that it cannot play because of the region?
VCD is a format we never had in UK, or EU as far as I know. So an EU DVD player cannot read them.
Simple solution would be to buy a small or portable DVD player and sent it to UK. Try to find compatible cables, but if not they can always watch it on a portable players screen screen.
A better solution would bbe to find someone who can burn the avi to DVD
Yup, if they've got a DVD player then burning a DVD would seem to make more sense. DVD burners are pretty cheap nowadays if you don't already have one on your computer.
If your parents are in the UK then they will be using PAL format, the same as in HK.
