Sharp Aquos and Philips dvd player

My old dvd player recently died, so I bought a relatively cheap dvd player with progressive scan. I have a 20 in Sharp Aquos. I bought the Yprbr cable and hooked it all up to watch dvds with progressive scan. The tv says that they are not compatible. Any way to get around this? Did I do something wrong? How am I to know what is compatible with the Aquos?

Any advice would be appreciated.

That is awesome TV say that ur DVD not compatible with it?
Maybe u not connect it in right way?
Did you try to connect ur TV with ur DVD with any other ways?
DVD and TV must have cables to connect them to each other!
TV may not have but DVD must have a cables to connect to TV! Try again if can't then u can e-mail me and I will fix it for a BIG money :)
