I am using Thunderbird, on my Mac and in my netvigator inbox, I get the same piece of spam every time I check the emails on this account (every time it pings the inbox.)
First arrived 29/09 and I cannot find anyway to block the sender.
Any ideas? I wrote to Netvigator with the message source detail several time over the last 2 weeks - no reply. (Maybe they think I am spamming them? :-)
I cannot report it to Spam cop as the message is apparently over 2 days old.
Sounds like your mailbox could be corrupted - maybe something in thunderbird on your PC if it is downloading same message again and again (i.e. the message is not being flagged as downloaded so next time you logon....).
Not an expert on Mac, but if all else fails Thunderbird has an option on Tools menu called message filters - set all messages from that sender or with that subject to delete etc.
Hehe. Spam sucks. My solution is to use gmail as a filter. Gmail has an excellent spam filter that grabs north of 99% of spam. But I don't use gmail. Here's how it works:
- My public address is x.
- Any mail arriving at x is forwarded my gmail address.
- Gmail sends spam to its spam folder.
- I have set gmail to forward everything to my a "private" address y.
- Since pretty much any program allows any email to be entered in the "sent" field, emails sent from y show up as sent from x.
Even better, I have set my whole family up like this. Just create rules in gmail which trigger on "To:" and forward to the appropriate private addresses. The girls don't need to know how it works if you set it up properly, nor do they really care.
