converting lcd screen to tv.....

ok, I understand nothing about those things but I herad that there is a way to buy an LCD and somehow to change it with something additional to a TV.
any help about this issue would be great.
Or is it better /cheaper to just buy an LCD tv and finish with it?.
Was thinking of buying a cheap screen and converting it for little girl's room-so no need to worry too much about quality picture.

Well if you don't have any of the hardware now I would recommend going with an LCD TV to start with.

Otherwise you need a tuner of some sort to decode TV signals and send them to the monitor. A tuner is built into a TV.
