cooker repair

I have an electric cooker which is now shorting all my electricity. I cleaned it recently and I think the oven light was broken, I think water or cleaning prouct may have gone in. Now when I turn it on all the electricity in my flat goes off! The hob is gas which still works perfectly well. Does anyone know someone who can fix this? I don't speak enough Cantonese to walk into a shop and ask.....It is no longer under warranty but is still in good conditiion.

Depends where you're living, it's probably something that only a little local repair shop will be interested in. Most shops will have somebody who speaks enough English to understand 'My cooker is broken, can you fix it?'
